Monday December 6
8:00 p.m. ZOOM

Are you passionate about evidence-based care, but regularly witness when hospital policies take precedence over your client's choices? It can be frustrating to see clients receive care that isn't based on research and not know how to help.

After attending the three-hour Savvy Birth Pro Workshop, you will leave confident in your ability to help your clients assert their right to evidence-based care in a respectful manner that builds bridges, not walls. We believe that the knowledge you will gain from the Savvy Birth Pro Workshop will have a positive ripple effect that will spread to your clients, the professionals you work with, and your community!

You are no longer alone in your quest to help more families receive high-quality, respectful maternity care! The Savvy Birth Pro Workshop does more than provide you with knowledge and skills; creates a strong community of connected professionals who together share this important mission.

Learning objectives:

  1. Define “evidence-based care” and discuss the difference between it and routine care

  2. Discuss the safety of birth options in the local context

  3. Demonstrate how birth givers can talk to their providers about research evidence

  4. Discuss how couples, doulas, and nurses can work as a team to support labor

  5. Describe the benefits and limitations of birth plans

  6. Discuss the human and legal rights of people who give birth
